Transportation:

Expect a group text on the Thursday or Friday before your scheduled session.
This text will serve as a reminder as well as inform you regarding where and when to meet for transportation pick-up. If you know you will no longer be able to attend your assigned session, contact our volunteer coordinator as soon as possible.
*Do not contact EmBark's email*

**Previous SFTS Volunteers**
Members who have previously volunteered at SFTS with EmBark will need to complete the virtual orientation, corresponding orientation quiz, and sign the waiver every semester. This ensures our members are up-to-date on volunteering policies.

Volunteer with EmBark UW and Felicia's Donation Closet

"Felicias Donation Closet is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting survivors of domestic abuse. We provide furniture and household essentials to help individuals transition to safer living situations away from their abusers.

Often, women escaping domestic violence must leave their homes with only what they can carry. Our mission is to help these women create comfortable and welcoming environments for their families by delivering new and gently used items donated by our supporters.

We collaborate with partner agencies across Dane County to serve those in need, ensuring they receive the support they deserve during their difficult journey." -FDC

Volunteer activities will mainly include moving and lifting furniture into survivors new homes.

Transportation will NOT be provided by EmBark for the first volunteering session
If you choose to use a personal vehicle, please be aware that it will be needed for the entire event, including travel to the warehouse and between moving locations. For this reason, using Uber is not a suitable alternative. We are actively working on securing a reliable transportation option for our volunteers for the March and April moving dates. If you have a vehicle and are open to giving rides to fellow volunteers, please message the designated group chat for that volunteering date.

How to Volunteer:
